Poor posture doesn’t care how old you are, as long as you’re spending a lot of time seating at your desk all day, looking down at your cellphone or reclining your couch, you may catch yourself slouching. Slouching is basically lazy posture where you find yourself walking, moving or seating in a comfortable position rather than keeping your back straight. It is linked to back pain. After your spine is used to your everyday slouching position, it is very difficult to mainting an upright position causing it to become painful.

Poor posture doesn’t only give you back and neck pain. It also gives you headaches, breathing problems and poor balance. On top of that, it can give you various discomfort. One of those can be constipation. Suprisingly, poor posture does affect you on the toilet. When your knees are lower than your hips because you are slouching, it causes the anus to close making it harder for feces to come out. Another one is heartburn and slowed digestion. Slouching after a meal puts pressure on the abdomen forcing stomach acid in the wrong direction. Also, transit slows down in the intestine when you slouch.
